Pressure Vessels Engineered for Corrosive & Critical Plant Environments

ATX designs and fabricates ASME-certified pressure vessels based on actual process conditions, operating pressures, and long-term safety requirements.

Pressure Vessels Engineered for Corrosive & Critical Plant Environments

Designing pressure vessels for corrosive and critical plant environments requires careful evaluation of material selection, vessel structure, and fabrication standards based on actual process conditions, operating environments, and long-term operational risks. Drawing on decades of hands-on experience in specialty non-ferrous metal fabrication, ATX goes beyond conventional manufacturing to provide technical judgment on materials, vessel design, and fabrication methodologies aligned with real service conditions.

Pressure Vessel Types Manufactured by ATX

ATX Heat Exchanger Heat Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger

Vertical Pressure Vessel

A vertical pressure vessel design engineered for high-pressure and high-temperature processes, widely applied in reactors, absorbers, and process service applications where efficient phase separation, compact footprint, and resistance to corrosive media are required.

Widely Applied Vertical Vessel Fabrication Reference

  • Widely used vertical pressure vessel configuration for reactors, absorbers, and process service
  • Suitable for a wide range of pressure, temperature, and corrosive media

ATX Heat Exchanger U-Tube / Fixed Tube Sheet Type

Horizontal Pressure Vessel

A horizontal pressure vessel configuration engineered for stable operation and ease of maintenance in large-capacity chemical and industrial processes, applied where horizontal arrangement is required due to process layout, installation constraints, or operational accessibility.

Layout-Driven Horizontal Vessel Fabrication Reference

  • Applied where horizontal arrangement is required due to process layout or installation constraints
  • Commonly used for storage, separation, and buffer service

ATX Heat Exchanger Coil / Immersion Type

Jacketed Pressure Vessel

A jacketed pressure vessel structure engineered for precise temperature control through external heating or cooling, widely applied in reactive and temperature-sensitive processes where accurate thermal management is critical.

Precision Jacketed Vessel Fabrication Reference

  • Pressure vessels equipped with an external jacket for heating or cooling service
  • A configuration requiring jacket forming, shell-to-jacket welding, and dimensional accuracy control

ATX Heat Exchanger Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger

Lined Pressure Vessel

A lined pressure vessel design engineered with a corrosion-resistant internal lining to protect the base material from aggressive chemical environments, ensuring long-term reliability and extended service life under demanding process conditions.

Corrosion-Resistant Lined Vessel Fabrication Reference

  • Pressure vessels with an internal lining applied to address the corrosive characteristics of the process media
  • A configuration where close adhesion and joint quality between the vessel shell and lining are critical

ATX Refurbishment & Life Extension

Custom-Designed Pressure Vessel Configuration

Custom-engineered pressure vessel configurations developed for process conditions where standard designs are not suitable, tailored to specific operating requirements, materials, and regulatory standards.

Non-Standard Geometry Pressure Vessel Fabrication Reference

  • Applied to processes where standard pressure vessel configurations are not suitable
  • Configured with non-standard geometries according to specific process conditions

Why ATX Heat Exchangers

Proven delivery record in chemical and plant environments for over 35 years

We have a long-standing track record of supplying equipment to chemical plant environments where corrosion resistance and long-term operational stability are required, with numerous units delivered over extended periods.

Fabrication-focused in-house control and consistent execution system

Key fabrication processes such as forming, welding, and testing are performed in-house to minimize quality variations between processes and maintain consistent results.

Materials are directly sourced and managed, and the entire process—from fabrication and inspection to delivery—is carried out within a single, integrated workflow.

Experience in plant equipment certification and regulatory compliance

In addition to domestic statutory inspections, we have project experience meeting fabrication and quality management requirements in accordance with various international certification standards.
We provide non-destructive and quality inspection arrangements aligned with customer requirements, either under our own control or through third-party inspection agencies.

Materials We Work With

Titanium

A high corrosion-resistant material widely used in seawater, chlorine-based, and high-salinity environments.
ATX has experience in processing various titanium grades and fabricating heat exchangers.

Tantalum (Solid / Lined Structure)

A specialty metal applied in strong acid and extreme chemical processes,

capable of withstanding 30% hydrochloric acid at 200°C and 95% sulfuric acid at 200°C.

Zirconium

A specialty metal that exhibits more stable corrosion behavior than titanium

under conditions where oxidizing media are present.
It is applied in environments where material stability is critical, such as the nuclear field.

Nickel & Nickel Alloy

Materials that maintain mechanical stability even at high temperatures,
showing excellent corrosion resistance in strong alkaline and certain reducing chemical environments.

Niobium

Applied to complement the durability of high corrosion-resistant structures
due to its ability to form a stable oxide film even in high-temperature, highly corrosive environments.
