Properties of Tantalum

Tantalum is a transition element belonging to Group 5a on the periodic table.The content in the crust is 1.7 ppm and the Clark number is 40th.

Tantalum has a similar appearance to Platinum. It is highly ductile and excellent in corrosion resistance, but ductility is totally different depending on the incorporation of impurities.

It is eroded only by hydrofluoric acid. So, used as an acid-resistant material for chemical industry, and also as an electronic material , alloy material.
